Ensures that your subwoofer only plays sounds too low for your speakers to properly output without distortion. Supplement your speakers high and mid-range with bass you can really feel down to the 38Hz range.
8” Bass Driver with DSP
An 8” driver delivers 70w of powerful sound with rich, highly accurate bass to provide you with the best listening experience. Deep lows don’t have to sound distorted and overblown. We’ve designed the T5 to deliver a clean listening experience for everyone.
Automatic Standby
Save on electricity with an auto standby feature that ensures the unit is not using up unnecessary power when left idle. Leave the unit plugged in without worrying about driving up your electric bill.
Lower Cabinet Resonance
Resonance is great when it’s your room shaking from the bass, not so much when it’s your subwoofer cabinet shaking from poor design. We use high quality, medium density fiberboard (MDF) materials that offer reduced cabinet resonance for the cleanest sound around.
Adjustable Bass and Frequency Bandwidth
Change bass volume on the fly with a convenient knob located on the back panel of the unit. An adjacent knob controls the frequency range of the subwoofer, allowing you to raise or lower the frequency where it starts to filter out sound.
Nice entry level subwoofer. You can't beat this for the price. I also have the Edifier R1280DBs speakers which easily fills a small/medium sized living room with full rich sound.
Great value for the price. Perfect addition to my 2.1 system. Just enough to fill my room with sound and not bother the neighbors that live downstairs. Took a while to receive it and had some issues dealing with customer service. Poor communication. I wouldn't buy another Edifier product for this reason.
Product is great, BUT…. The whole experience was “not so great”, especially due to unavailability of customer support or tech support to respond promptly to our request. I was having issues connecting the Airpulse 100 to the T5 sub. Despite following the installation manuals that mislead me to connect the Airpulse to the sub using the sub out plug, I was stuck with no sound coming out of the T5 at all. I tried calling several times over the phone, no answers. I couldn’t get anyone from Edifier on the phone to help me. These calls were made during week days and during their hours of operation. I sent a ticket for support which contained my issue along with my order # and all required details. I got a response 24 hours later with the support agent asking for my order #. Number that was already in the ticket I created. I then had to waste another 24 hours waiting for the agent to reply. Basically the support was unproductive and the company appeared very disorganized and unreliable. I wanted to return the whole thing as I was in the middle of moving in a new home, with the whole system not functioning properly, with the opened boxes in the living room, unsure of what to do… I spent hours watching YouTube videos and forums in order to try to connect the Airpulse 100 to my T5 subwoofer until the support agent gave me the answer… I had to connect the RCA cable from the Signal out plug of the t5 sub to the “PC” plug of the Airpulse 100. Then the music source connected to the “Signal In” of the sub and everything works fine. Had to buy a BT transmitter though because I intended to buy this system to play music using BT. This was never indicated in the manuals and to this day, I still don’t understand why this is how it works… Anyways, it ended up working well with the BT adapter, the sound coming out the Airpulse 100 is phenomenal for home use. I wouldn’t need anything more than the T5, the Bass boost that it gives is superb. Overall my frustration went away because of the beautiful look and great sound from the airpulse. I simply think that when you pay 1200$(CAD) for a pair of speakers, you should get the customer service that goes with the price and quality of the item. A customer service that is available when you call, and that provides prompt follow-ups and guidance. Especially since we’re not all expert in the field and sometimes, we can’t just find out these tricks and twist to make the audio systems work.
Its a bit too powerful for my current use but is a good price for the quality and still handles what i want from it, though at very low volume. the setup with passthrough to my edifier monitors was simple its easy to tune a rough eq by adjusting the volume of each.
I read many comments about the subwoofer going in standby mode when speakers are playing at low volume. I don’t have that issue with mine. This is a great sub for the price!
Bought it to pair with R1700BTS. This small sub has plenty of quality base sound, tight and clear. It plays loud too. A turning knob allows an adjustable amount of base to blend well with the speakers. A very good match and a must-buy if anyone wants an upgrade to their system.
Le T5 fait ce qu’il doit, mais combiné avec les enceintes D1280DBs le son demeure sans profondeur. Je crois que le problème si problème est les enceintes.
Very good product, I tried following the calibration instructions to pair it best with my r1700bts but I had to readjust a couple of times to get the sound right
T5 Powered Subwoofer
With a good signal this thing rocks, and so does the house. I have the T5 paired with the R1280DBs book shelf speakers connected to the TV using the optical input. My first test was watching the movie Pacific Rim, on Blu-ray, and during the action scenes the T5 would shake the entire 1300 sq. ft. house.
I watch and listen to all types of programming and music. One improvement I'd like would be having a remote, so the volume and crossover settings could be easily tailored to the type of input. It's easy enough to do with the nobs on the back of the T5, but being able to adjust from the listening position would be much better.
Got a great deal on the T5 sub, jumped on it as soon it came back in stock. Absolutely love it, combined with my Edifier R1280DBs speakers. Tremendous sound for an actually very acceptable price. Who knew there was still a manufacturer that was still interested in keeping things simple and affordable, providing exceptional value! I'm a a huge fan now. Will probably outfit my entire home with Edifier stuff. Can't wait!!
Woofer generally performs but proper information on graduated scale for freauency cuttoff xetting was not available in info book or marked on speaker back panel.
Hence hard to precisely adjust without having to pay for tbis information.
Bought a pair of refurbished 1700 BTs's. Sound and clarity was great except missing a bit of low end. Purchased the T5 to compliment the 1700s problem solved.
